I keep my kids around for the comedy
Some amusing things the youngest kid has done this week:
——————————————————————————–
On the last hot day we had, he went outside without his shirt on and said,”Look! I’m outside with just my tummy on!”
Now when I see a shirtless man, I will think of him as having his “tummy on”.
—————————————————————————–
While walking down the street, we passed a little girl and her Daddy walking the opposite way. The little girl was older than him and thought he was cute and gave him a gentle pat on the head as she walked past. Slightly peeved, he remarked, “That girl patted me on the head like a dog!”
——————————————————————————
He was watching his older sister try on her new skirt. I peeked in from the hallway to see her standing in front of the mirror wearing a pink & gray plaid pleated skirt that barely came past her ass. But you know…I’m the step-mom and she’s 18 years old so I pretty much have to just bite my tongue and say nothing, even though my reaction would have been,”Ummm….I have lots of fabric if you’d like to make yourself an actual skirt that covers more than half your ass cheeks.”
The 3 year old doesn’t have to be quiet. He looked up at her, shaking his head and said,”Nope, doesn’t fit”
She started to argue with him,”Oh,yes it does so!”
He reaffirmed his opinion. “Nope. It’s Maia’s size!”
(Maia is 7,by the way. And I agree…it looked like it would have been a very cute knee length skirt on her.)
I just thought it was pretty funny that even the 3 year old can spot that a skirt is very obviously too short, even after the wearer of the skirt insists it’s “supposed to be that way”.
———————————————————————————
His favorite thing to do lately that I really hate:
He collects stones and places them in a tidy pile on the center railing of the bridge. Then he must lean over more than I am comfortable with because it’s fun to scare mommy and make her have images of her baby hurtling into the creek below (even though logically, I doubt that’s ever going to happen. Especially with the death grip I have on his non-throwing arm)
Two days of rain have the creek at a dull roar and helped the forsythia open up their blooms.

Hahaha! I think the comedy is the only reason that parents don’t eat their young.

Oh man, what a cool kid! But then you probably already knew that, huh?
