Things I Managed To Do This Week

  1. Rearranged the girls’ bedroom.
  2. Learned that Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz never had ruby slippers (in the book) - she had silver boots
  3. Won a Bitch of the Week award
  4. Started knitting a sweater for my mother
  5. Planted herbs and veggies
  6. Developed a little crush on Josh Homme .
  7. Cleaned out the kitchen cabinets and got rid of a ton of crap
  8. Cleaned & organized my Pretend Studio space (it might feel less pretend if I wasn’t sharing it with the washing machine and the litter box)
  9. Revisited childhood favorites Le Ballon Rouge and The Secret Garden.
  10. Weaned The Little Guy and got him to sleep in his own bed.Allllll night long.
  11. Made some business deals
  12. Mastered the art of dealing with anger & resentment in a passive-aggressive manner.

I’m ready for the weekend.

I think you should amend that to the Productive Bitch of the Week Award…that way, I could still get the Lazy Bitch of the Week Award. Come on, please!

You are my hero! And I can’t believe you’re knitting her a sweater.

Kids sleep in their own beds? We actually rock the two bead set up. My son (age almost 5) and I sleep on a futon on the floor and my wife and the baby (almost a year) sleep in the regular bed. We also have two dogs sleeping in the room with us.

We’ve always co-slept until the kids decided it was time to move to their own bed. Well, I take that back…the twins never co-slept with me. I guess they felt having each other was enough. But anyway..yeah…youngest kind of decided that since he wasn’t having “nursey” anymore, there wasn’t much reason to sleep with me anymore ;) It was the first time he’s EVER slept the entire night. It was definitely weird.

If you can write about 200 pages worth of how you did number 12 in just a week, it would be a best seller — I’d buy it for sure!

And my kids sleep all night all by themselves now, but YEARS went by when I never ever believed it would happen. :-)

Oh my god-I planned on weaning my son at a year old. He is now 20 months. And I am sooo over the breastfeeding thing. Wish I could wean him-it was so much easier with his sister. The only thing I’ve been successful at is not nursing him to sleep at night. So, great job that you were able to have some success with yours!

I think with the warmer weather and being out and about more helped a ton with weaning because yeah…I was pretty over nursing too. I have spent a total of 7.5 years breastfeeding between the 5 kids. I was ready to have my body back ;) Good luck!

You know, I looked at 7.5 years and thought, “Oh, the poor thing!” … and then I started counting. I’m not ready to give up nursing yet, but I’ll be happy to ditch the breast pump.

You know, sharing any studio space with a litter box is just wrong. I can see how that cramps your style.

Hope you had a good weekend!
